This string orchestra arrangement of Amazing Grace has a relaxed, southern feeling and evokes imagery of a warm, summer evening. The well-known melody begins with the first violins, and is picked up by the violas, second violins, and the cellos in turn. The melodic line has a soft, rolling quality through the abundant usage of triplets. Each verse sounds different than the one before, creating interest throughout the piece.
