Morning has Broken (aka Bunessanis a Gaelic tune (hymn) that was first published in Lachlan Macbean’s Songs and Hymns of the Gael (1888) as a setting for Mary Macdonald’s carol “Child in the Manger.” The tune is named after Macdonald’s birthplace on the Isle of Mull, Scotland. BUNESSAN is also well known as the setting for Eleanor Farjeon’s “Morning Has Broken” (1931).
This string trio arrangement includes the second part in both treble clef (when played by a violinist) and in alto clef (for a violist), giving you the flexibility of performing it either with two violins and a cello, or with a violin, viola and cello. Score, set of parts, 8 pages.
