Scarborough Fair/Canticle is based on a melody from the middle ages, modified and made popular by Simon & Garfunkel. It has also been performed by Bob Dylan, Celtic Woman, and many others over the years. This arrangement is for string trio, with the cello playing the haunting, moving eighth-note base while the melody and counter-melody are played by the upper strings. This arrangement can be played by either two violins and a cello, or a violin, viola and cello. The second part is included in both treble and alto clef, for greater performance flexibility. Score, set of parts 10 pages.
